A wall mural (often miss-spelt as muriel) is a piece of artwork that generally takes up the entirety of a wall. This can be inside or outside of a building and varies in size, from small spaces, to the size of an entire building!

I use water-based acrylics for all of my murals. They are proven to be hard-wearing against the weather on external murals and can handle a clean on internal murals, which is handy in nursery settings.

No, the acrylic paints do not smell at all. It is perfectly safe to sleep in the room that has been painted, but I often advise to leave the room for a day if possible to allow it to fully dry and avoid any damage.

Yes. Ideally your wall must be clean and anything like Blu Tac must not be left on the wall. This allows the paint to adhere to the wall. The ideal wall will have a base coat of matt paint. Acrylics struggle to adhere to gloss and silk paints and can often bubble or peel away on these surfaces.

The cost of a mural can vary greatly. It all depends on how large your wall is, how detailed your mural is and where in the country you are based.

For customers outside of the Carmarthenshire/Pembrokeshire area there are mileage and accommodation costs to consider for murals that take several days to complete.

To help you calculate the rough cost of your mural, take the measurement of your wall length ( for example 4 meters) and your wall heigh (for example 2.5 meters) and multiply them. In this example, 4 x 2.5 meters is a total of 10 meters squared.

Unfortunately, I do not personally paint with spray paints. I have a specific style where I hand paint with brushed and a paint palette. I can, however, recommend other mural artists who do use spray paints.

There's no real limit on how far I will travel, but the further away the mural is, the more milage and accommodation costs with accrue. I am always happy to discuss costs to see how this can be made reasonable for both parties.

I am primarily based in South Wales, with most of my clients being in Carmarthenshire. I have however travelled to Brecon, Ruislip, Kent and Surrey in the past so distance is not often an issue.
